10th Energy Conference of the Island of Krk: Energy Transition in the Context of Climate Change and the New European Green Plan

The 10th Energy Conference of the Island of Krk, as a hybrid, organized by the Faculty of Economics, University of Rijeka, Kvarner Regional Energy Agency and Eco Kvarner Association, under the auspices and presence of the President of the Republic of Croatia Zoran Milanovic, will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, 09 and 10. June 2021.

The islands are on the verge of significant changes – the future European Green Plan and the Mediterranean Strategy for Sustainable Development 2015-2022 strive to achieve the goal of a climate-neutral Europe by strengthening the economy with green technology, creating a sustainable economy reducing pollution.

The green economy will be the future of Croatia, which is of great importance for our islands because sustainable development means economic and social growth in line with the ecosystems in which it operates. As such, it is sustainable in the long run. The future of our islands is based on development strategies for the use of renewable energy sources while at the same time reducing the harmful effects of global climate change.
